If you guys are like me, the only thing I have been thinking about is a BREAK! This whole process has taken a lot of time and effort. We have put money and hard-work into our businesses for weeks. Soooo...
This week you can take a little break! (kinda) haha. We need to cover the basics of SEO, but it won't take much time because it is a huge topic that I'm not even sure about.
S - Search
E - Engine
O - Optimization
SEO is how companies optimize their ads to match the requirements of a search engines algorithm. Each search engine has a special algorithm that pulls different things into account when it is ranking and showing ads. The closer you meet the algorithm requirements, the higher you rank on searches. Here are five important things to consider when you are doing SEO.
Words - the certain words you use will be matched with what a consumer searches on the web. If you company is selling face masks and a consumer searches "face masks," the search engine will pull up your companies ad.
Titles - similar to words, search engines place high importance on your titles matching the search of the customer.
Links - the more websites that are linking their websites to yours, the higher your ranking will be. Search engines see this as other websites recommending your site and it is seen as a positive.
Words in Links - If the word "pizza" is linked in your words, the search engine will assume this word has something to do with the website. It will automatically correlate what the website does with this word link.
Reputation - search engines love to see that your company is trusted and has a good rep. The better you look, the higher your ranking.
These are just some basics that I have learned, but feel free to go out and learn more on your own. If you wondering where the break part comes in, it is now. I have taught you some basics, but their are no steps you need to take right now. You could go ahead and set SEO up on your website (if your host allows it) OR you can take a break.
Sit back and look at your results. Look at the impressions, clicks, and results of your hard work! Isn't it awesome! It may take some time to build up to the point you want it to be at, but enjoy how much you have learned and done. You actually started a business and people are actually seeing or clicking on your ads!
