Where do I even begin?!
I have questioned this for years...literally years. Then I decided to take a Web Business Creation class. On the very first week of school, our professor announced that we would be creating our own e-commerce business. We would learn advertising, legal issues, website building, and other important areas. I was thrilled! Finally, I would have someone to get my foot in the door. However, that was not the full story. Before my professor could even begin teaching me these things, I had to find a business idea. My professor would be teaching as I went, but I was running my OWN business. I had to figure it out. Where do I find a business idea? "I want it to be successful." "I want to make money, not just lose it." Thoughts swirled through my head the entire week.
When week two came, I was overwhelmed with trying to find an idea. During the personal reading for the week I found the guidance I was looking for. It came through a personal blog my teacher had shared. He explained how every day he wrote down ALL the business ideas he had, the stupid and the genius. Some ideas were already made, some were brand new, and others would not be successful. But that wasn't the point. When you empty your mind for every. single. idea. you open your mind to all sorts of possibilities. It allows you to dig deeper into your creativity.
I still don't have any clue what business I'm going to pick, but I started my own list of ideas. Some totally worthless and others amazing! I hope to soon find the business that fits my needs. Until then, I want to share another important area of learning to start a business. Google Ads. Like come on, it is so useful. If your looking for somewhere to start, until you find your business idea, I advise Google Ads and Google KeyWord Finder. It allows you to compare competition, demand, impression, costs, and even more. It may help you visualize your costs and eventually lead to a solid business start.
If you are thinking of starting your own business, be aware that starting a business takes time and money. I am using my own resources to fund and start this business, but I have a professor walking me through the correct order of my steps. If you would like to take this journey with me, keep up with my blogs and reach out for more advice! Let's take this journey into the business world together.
